The Opening Festivity of the Academic Year 2016-2017 of all Israel Universities and Colleges, for Students of Computer Science and Electrical, Software and Computer Engineering

 The IEEE Israel Student section together with the IEEE Young Professionals in Israel are pleased to announce the opening festivity of the academic year 2016-2017 of all Israel Universities and Colleges, for student of Computer Science and Electrical, Software and Computer Engineering. In the festivity will participate PhD, MSc and BSc students.

The festivity will be held in the Faculty of Engineering, Bar-Ilan university, in Tuesday, November 22th, 2016.

Festivity highlights:

    • A job fair with the leading high-tech companies in Israel.
    • Symposia of many topics in Engineering and Entrepreneurship.
    • A large exhibition hall showcasing, will provide opportunities for industry professionals to share and learn about the latest ideas, trends, and product innovations in the industry.
    • Launch of the IEEE Walabot Student Challenge (see below)

The program includes two keynote speakers (see below) and workshops, as well as a poster session on today’s state-of-the-art research conducted by graduate students from around the country. In addition, a job fair targeting graduates and students in the various fields (e.g. EE, SE, CS) will be held with the participation of leading high-tech companies. The names of companies that will participate in this event will be posted at a later stage.  

Light food and refreshments will be served.

Research students and graduates from all institutions will present posters describing their work on all topics related to electrical and computer engineering. 

IEEE Walabot Student Challenge  presents an opportunity for young engineers to build useful and innovative applications based on the Walabot technology platform. Student teams are encouraged to enter the competition, starting November 22, 2016. The final will be at IEEE-COMCAS 2017. Selected students will have an opportunity to present their applications and compete for scholarships and research grants, up to $10,000.

The festivity will host Ms. Eszter Lukacs, IEEE Client Service Manager at R8. Ms. Lukacs will lecture on
carrer development with IEEE & IEEE Xplore and how to get published with IEEE
